Meet the Doctors

Sharna Hemrajani, DMD
Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Sharna was raised in Marlboro, New Jersey and knew when she was very young that she wanted to become a Pediatric Dentist. She is passionate about treating children in a fun and comfortable environment. Dr. Sharna understands children’s fears and can relate to them. Unfortunately, as a young child she had several cavities and became afraid of going to the dentist. Due to her own phobia regarding going to the dentist, she made it her goal to make dental visits easy, comfortable and pain-free for her patients.

Dr. Sharna was accepted to a seven year accelerated dual degree program. She completed her BS in Engineering Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then completed her Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and graduated within the top ten percent of her class. Dr. Sharna was then accepted to one of the top Pediatric Dental specialty programs at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. She served as Chief Resident and graduated with a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry. This hospital based residency program provided specialized training in pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry and care for children with special needs.

Dr. Sharna then completed additional training and coursework and became a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.   She recently completed her 10 year recertification exam.

Dr. Sharna lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children. She enjoys kickboxing, traveling to the Carribean, and cooking with her kids.

Dr. Donna Chen
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Donna was born in New York but grew up in China until she moved to Pennsylvania at age seven. She graduated valedictorian of her high school, received her BA in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania and her DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Donna completed a two-year specialty residency program in pediatric dentistry at Stony Brook University Hospital and served as Chief Resident.

As a child, Dr. Donna did not have proper access to dental care, but she was diligent about hygiene. As a result, her first dental visit wasn’t until her late teens when she had her first cavity. Even at an older age, she remembers how intimating dental visits can be. Dr. Donna strives to eliminate anxiety and make dental visits fun for children of all ages. She is a proponent of preventative dental care and firmly believes in educating patients and parents about establishing a healthy diet and oral hygiene habits at a young age.

Dr. Donna is a member of the America Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and is board eligible with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Donna resides in Brooklyn with her husband and Samoyed dog, Yuzu. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, playing pickleball, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
